Fun fact, 250 pounds of lavender flower make 1 pound of lavender essential oil while 5,000 pounds of rose petals or lemon balm make 1 pound of rose or lemon balm essential oil.

Many studies have shown that the different essential oils can boost mood, reduce stress, improve sleep, kill bacteria, funguses, and viruses, reduce anxiety, reduce inflammation, reduce nausea, and relieve headaches.

Here’s a list of some of the most common essential oils and what each does:

  • Lavender oil – can help with stress, pain, and sleep
  • Tea tree oil – has antiseptic, antimicrobial, or antifungal properties and can help with your problems with acne, Athlete’s foot, and ringworms.
  • Peppermint oil – is known to ease headaches, fight fatigue, boost mood, and support digestion and memory.
  • Eucalyptus oil – can help soothe a stuffed-up nose.
  • Lemon oil – is known to reduce anxiety and pain, ease nausea, and kill bacteria.
  • Lemongrass oil – has a strong citrus scent that relieves stress, anxiety, and depression.
  • Jasmine oil – can help with depression, childbirth, and libido

In a post from Cleveland Clinic, it is best not to use them regularly as the body can get used to them resulting in lessening the effectivity.

These oils are used in aromatherapy and must be inhaled through various methods. They are not meant to be swallowed as they can have chemicals that may react in many ways.
