BLOOD SUGAR – Symptoms of Low and High Blood Sugar

Here are some symptoms and warning signs of low and high blood sugar.

Public health expert Doc Willie Ong shared some of the symptoms and warning signs of low (hypoglycemia) and high blood sugar (hyperglycemia).

The main sugar which is found in the blood is called glucose or blood sugar which serves as the energy source of the body basically coming from what we eat. And keeping it too high or too low has underlying serious problems. As such, hyperglycemia causes diabetes and we all know that this kind of disease has a lot of complications. Hypoglycemia is low blood sugar and it is called hyperglycemia otherwise.

SYMPTOMS OF HYPOGLYCEMIA ARE THE FOLLOWING:

  • sweating
  • pallor
  • irritability
  • hunger
  • lack of coordination
  • sleepiness

SYMPTOMS OF HYPERGLYCEMIA ARE THE FOLLOWING:

  • dry mouth
  • increased thirst
  • weakness
  • headache
  • blurred vision
  • frequent urination

In terms of diabetes, Doc Willie Ong have discussed that there are certain ways to treat this condition. Check out some below:

  1. Moderate work out and regular exercise to stay physically active.
  2. Reduce rice and carbohydrates consumption.
  3. Eat 2 to 3 cups of vegetables everyday.
  4. Drink 2 to 3 glasses of water every morning.
  5. Lose weight if overweight.
  6. Avoid high-calorie foods.
  7. Avoid stress and staying up late at night.
  8. Keenly observe and follow your blood sugar level.
  9. Enough sleep and rest.
  10. Try vinegar or Apple cider vinegar.

If you have diabetes, check your sugar level all the time and it is important to keep your numbers within your target normal range. If the level is consistently high, this can lead to a lot of serious problems. And there are several tests to determine of you have diabetes.
