BANGUNGOT SYNDROME – Doctor Willie Ong cited its causes and gave some tips on how to avoid it.

One of the top causes of death which appear somehow mysterious to a lot of people most especially those who are not in the medical field is the “bangungot syndrome”. It is more popularly referred to as “bangungot”.

A lot of people died due to it. In fact, the list includes several celebrities including the late actor and former matinee idol Rico Yan. But what is really this health condition?

In a video, Doc Willie Ong clarified that the condition is “bangungot syndrome”. According to him, “bangungot” refers to simply dreaming of something bad.

With regards to “bangungot syndrome”, according to Doc Willie Ong, it is a disease caused by heart attack and acute pancreatitis. The latter refers to the swelling of the pancreas.

Doc Willie expressed that it is the duty of the pancreas to produce “juices” to digest the food we ate. Daily, up to eight (8) cups of juices are produced by the pancreas. Acute pancreatitis can be due to over eating or drinking.

When we ate too much and most especially when we sleep right away after eating a lot, the pancreas are struggling based on the video. To avoid it which may also trigger the “bangungot syndrome”, here are some tips from Doc Willie Ong:

  • Eat five (5) to six (6) times daily in minimal amounts.
  • Take a 20-minute walk after eating.
  • Always eat and drink water before going for some drinking sessions with friends.
