HYPERACIDITY – Popular internist and cardiologist doctor Willie Ong cited six (6) ways to avoid and treat the onset of acid reflux.

One of the health conditions that always challenge a lot of people is hyperacidity. It is also called acid reflux. This health condition is characterized by the inflammation of the lining of the stomach. Often times, it is caused by bacterial infection. Several habits including the following may also lead to the said health condition:

  • too much intake of spicy food
  • unhealthy consumption of salty and sour food
  • irregular meal times
  • eating too late at night
  • less intake of water
  • excessive intake of fatty and oily food
  • eating incompatible food
  • skipping meals

People who are experiencing it feel bloated and keeps on releasing gas. Frequent burps can be heard from the person who may also experience sour or bitter belching. Some people who have an acid attack also experience the following:

  • nausea

  1. Eat some food every three (3) to four (4) hours and do not skip meals.
  2. Try eating a banana as it can help in coating the stomach.
  3. Drink three (3) to four (4) sips of water every thirty (30) minutes to wash out stomach acid.
  4. Eat more bland food and limit your intake of spicy and sour food.
  5. Avoid stress if possible.
  6. Eat slowly and take a ten (10) to fifteen (15)-minute walk after eating.
