Celebrations, stress, and parties are among the common reasons why a person tend to send himself from overindulging into foods or overeating. This is eating more than your stomach can handle which can eventually make you feel super bloaty and uncomfortable.

Although it is just natural for someone to overeat from time to time, what’s important are the things you do after it. As much as many people are aware, overeating is a problem many people who are trying to lose weight are facing.

Here are some things you can do:

  • Take a walk to stimulate your digestion because you’re stomach has been loaded with stuff more than it can handle. But never overdo any workout after overeating as it might do the other way.
  • Drink water after a huge meal to keep yourself hydrated, prevent constipation, and get rid of excess salt. Carbonated drinks are not the best option.
  • Don’t lie down after a meal as it might slow down the digestion process and worsen your acid reflux.
  • After some 3 or 4 hours, try to work out to burn calories, jump-start your metabolism, and prevent constipation.
  • Eat mindfully in your next meal. Observe yourself if you feel full yet as this way, you eat less and feel more satisfied as per an article from WebMD.
  • You can still eat more after but with better and healthier choices like whole-grains, broccoli, yellow squash, asparagus, and salad greens. Drop the fatty meat, white bread, and french fries.
