Dr. Mon Fernandez Discusses Why Having Water in Lungs Happens & What Must Be Done

WATER IN LUNGS – Doctor Mon Fernandez explained why this health condition happens and what to do in case you are suffering from it.

Although it is not a very rare case, having water in the lungs is a serious condition that must not be taken for granted. If left untreated, this health condition can lead to other complications and diseases.

Based on the video posted by Doctor Willie Ong on YouTube, there are two (2) reasons why water in the lungs happens. Dr. Mon Fernandez cited these two (2) causes – the Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) and the Pleural Effusion.

The CHF is a condition which affects the power of the heart to pump blood. It is more popularly known as “heart failure”. According to Dr. Fernandez, this happens when fluid build up around the heart causing it to not pump efficiently.

Another cause of water in the lungs is the Pleural Effusion, a health condition affecting the lungs. It is a result of the build up of excess fluid between the layers of the pleura which are found outside the lungs. The pleura are membranes that help facilitate the breathing of a person and they also line the lungs and the inside of the chest cavity.

While heart failure may be caused by several things, based on the video, Pleural Effusion may be due to tuberculosis, cancer, or infection. According to Dr. Fernandez, the best thing to do once you are suspecting that you have water in the lungs is to go for a check-up. There might be a need for the use of a tube in removing the water from the organ.
