INCREASE OXYGEN IN THE BODY – Here is a guide on how to add the level of oxygen in the body most especially for those with lung diseases.

One of the things that a lot of people take for granted is the oxygen level in the body. Most of the time, we don’t get to notice it until we can feel that our breathing is not normal anymore.

Also, most people with lung diseases have become used to breathing difficulties. Most of those with lung diseases such as asthma and emphysema experience frequent shortness of breathe.

Do you know that there are actually ways on how to increase the oxygen in the body? In a video, Dr. Willie Ong cited three (3) ways – the purse lip breathing, the abdominal breathing, and the deep breathing.

Increase the Oxygen in the body by Dr Willie Ong

The aforementioned ways in increasing the body’s oxygen level are breathing exercises. Based on the video, here are the lists of what you have to do to increase the oxygen in your body:

Purse Lip Breathing

  1. Sit comfortably and relax your neck and shoulder muscles.
  2. Keep your lips pressed together tightly, except the center.
  3. Inhale through your nose for 2 to three seconds.
  4. Exhale through your mouth and purse your lips while counting to four
  5. Continue to inhale and exhale for another 10 minutes.

Abdominal Breathing

  1. Put your hand on your chest and place the other on your stomach.
  2. Take a breath feeling your stomach move outward.
  3. Breathe out slowly while pressing your stomach lightly.
  4. Repeat the exercise as you are able.

Deep Breathing

  1. Sit or stand with elbows slightly back.
  2. Inhale a deep breath.
  3. Hold your breathe.
  4. Exhale.

Based on the video, it is also best to stop our unhealthy habits which may also affect the lowering of the body’s oxygen level. Dr. Willie Ong suggests eating fruits and vegetables with anti-oxidants as well.
