Doing habits that are considered healthy may prevent disease such as heart disease, stroke, and high blood pressure. It can help regulate cholesterol and blood pressure levels and make you live a longer and happier life.

Aside from fewer health problems, cultivating healthy habits may also help you save money and make you feel better mentally.

But check out some habits below and see if they are really healthy:

  • Calorie counting – The calorie counting is not as helpful as you may think it is because there are certain factors that may cause certain effects like the types of food and your metabolic rate. To achieve weight loss goals, consume quality foods, get regular exercise, have a good sleep, and seek a doctor’s guidance.
  • Daily showers – You don’t need to shower daily because it may increase chances of stripping off “good” bacteria and protective oils on your skin. Three or four showers in a week is suggested.
  • Low-fat food – They are not always healthy. Instead, choose foods that contains no trans fats and saturated fats. Low-fat foods may deprive your body the fiber, protein, or amino acids that it needs.
  • Vitamin C for colds – Vitamin C is never a remedy for colds. Truly, this is needed for the body to improve skin, for blood vessels, and bone health but it does not treat colds.
  • Brushing after a meal – Timing is everything and this goes the same for brushing your teeth. Brush your teeth an hour after eating.
  • Daily multivitamins intake – This may not be bad but the better option compared to this is consuming the right foods such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and low-fat dairy as per WebMD.
