The boiled egg diet is a fad diet. If you love eggs and want to lose weight, this might be appealing to you, however, fad diets will not lead to long-term changes that will improve your health.

This is a high protein low carbohydrate and low-calorie diet which is helpful to shed some pounds. In some versions of this particular diet, a person must eat hard-boiled eggs only throughout his or her day. And in some versions, a person may consume plain boiled, poached, or scrambled eggs.

It does not allow the following:

  • the use of butter or oil in any way
  • consuming starchy carbohydrates
  • sweet and other foods high in sugar

This diet, on the other hand, allows:

  • lean protein
  • low carbohydrate vegetables
  • one to two servings of fruits

According to a post from Very Well Fit, one pro of this diet is that it is a diet that consists of “highly nutrient-dense” which means that foods have vitamins, minerals, and bioavailable protein.

However, there are several cons. First is that people allergic to this must never try this. It can pose dangers to bone health as it does not provide enough calcium. It is very low in calories which means that you won’t have enough energy to do workouts and it is low in fiber which can pose risks to digestion.
