What are the frozen shoulder causes and what are the possible treatments?
FROZEN SHOULDER CAUSES – These are the causes of a common condition called frozen shoulder including the possible ways to treat this.
Our shoulders can make us create broad movements and rotate our arms in a circular motion. The glenohumeral joint joins the upper arm bone and the glenoid cavity together. But there’s a condition that affects this and it is called frozen shoulder or adhesive capsulitis.
The glenohumeral joint has a capsule filled with a lubricant called synovial fluid. This specific fluid helps us do the broad movements in a smooth and easy manner may it be backward, forward, or rotation.
Such a condition affects women more than men. It happens to people ages 40 to 60 and it limits what a person can do since there is inflammation in that part of the body.
And in this post, we will discuss some factors causing this and what are the possible or appropriate treatments to get rid of this.
A post from Mayo Clinic said that this is also called adhesive capsulitis characterized by “stiffness and pain in your shoulder joint”. Accordingly, the pain worsens gradually and it will become worse if left untreated.
In the post, the risk is high if a person is in the recovery process of a certain condition or a procedure that immobilizes your arms. The conditions that may require prolonged immobility include rotator cuff injury, broken arm, stroke, and recovering from surgery.
Moreover, doctors were not certain about the specific causes that might also occur in people with diabetes, overactive thyroid, underactive thyroid, cardiovascular disease, tuberculosis, and Parkinson’s Disease.
This condition happens when the capsule in the joint becomes thick and tightened.
Usually, surgery is not the way to treat this. It is suggested to do physical therapy and anti-inflammatory medication. You may also talk with your doctor about what exercises you can do in order to prevent this.
