BAD FATS – Certain fats are good while some are bad and there are certain foods we must avoid eating due to bad fats it contains.
For a healthy eating habits, being smart in choices of your food is necessary and most especially in consuming fats. They say fats are bad but certainly not all types of it. There are several types which are good and the body needs for energy, builds nerve tissue and hormones, and for better absorption of vitamins A, D, E, and K.
This fat is from the food we eat which is why we must be mindful about the foods our body takes in. Being careful is also a must as bad fats can lead obesity, raise your cholesterol and blood pressure, and increase your risk of heart disease, diabetes, and some cancers.
Now, here are some considerations you must know to avoid bad fats for a healthy life:
- Saturated fats are bad and it can be found in meat, poultry, eggs, and dairy items.
- Trans fats are bad as it underwent a process called hydrogenation where oils get turned into solid fats which is why you must avoid fast foods.
- Limit amount of fried foods intake.
- Reduce consumption of red meat and focus on eating fish, poultry, and vegetable proteins.
- Use canola oil for baking and olive oil for cooking and salad dressing.
- Eat more avocados and reach for nuts as healthy snacks.
Thus, fast foods, fried foods, chips, processed meats, high sugar foods, tropical oils, high fat dairy foods, cakes and other commercial pastries, are just of the foods you must avoid because of the bad fats it contains.
