Is jogging in place an effective physical activity to shed off pounds?

JOGGING IN PLACE – This activity may seem to be too easy to lose weight but here are some of its beneficial effects on the health and body of a person.

Jogging and running in place is a very easy form of workout. It is used as part of a warm-up exercise before getting into the real exercise session.

Experts suggest that an adult must have at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise per week and it’s always a good sign that you’re doing something right if you are forced to breathe out through your mouth.

It is a fat-burning exercise. And as much as many people are aware, reduced weight and reduced belly fat by doing cardio exercises may lower the chances of developing certain conditions such as heart disease, osteoporosis, diabetes, and other chronic illnesses, including some types of cancers. 

According to information from Mayo Clinic, this is a low-impact aerobic exercise. A person weighing 160 pounds may burn 183 calories in 30 minutes. This may be just a few calories to burn but this is better than doing nothing at all.

  • Start with a five-minute stretching to loosen up your body.
  • Jog in place for five minutes.
  • Then perform a set of 20 to 30 pushups followed by a 30-second plank.
  • Take a rest for one minute.
  • Jog again in place for five minutes.
  • Do 15 to 20 bodyweight squats followed by 30-second jumping jacks.
  • Rest for a minute then repeat this routine all over again.

Some of the benefits of jogging or running in place include improved cardiovascular health, strengthening the lower body, better posture, may reduce knee pain, balance, agility, and coordination will be improved, and it is just very convenient to do because this does not require any complicated or heavy gym equipment.
