No matter how much money you have in your bank account or how many properties you own, none can equate to being healthy and fit. It is hard to enjoy what you have if your health condition is not at its best state.
To keep your body healthy, it is important to be mindful of your lifestyle. It includes the kind of food you eat and avoid, your sleeping hours and the quality of your sleep, your mindset, your attitude towards things, and the things you usually do.
Most diseases and health problems are caused by our unhealthy lifestyle. Aside from living in the pursuit of being healthy, it is also important to observe your body closely and check whether it is really healthy or you need a visit to the doctor.
In a video, Dr. Willie Ong cited that there are five (5) ways to check on the health. By doing these, you may spot unhealthy signs that need the advise of a medical expert. Here is a list of what you can do to check whether you are healthy or not:
- Perform stretching. Check if your fingers can reach your toes.
- Get your pulse rate. Count the beat of your pulse in a minute.
- 60 to 90 beats per minute – normal pulse rate
- 85 to 90 beats per minute – slightly fast and may indicate stress and fatigue
- Over 90 beats per minute – may indicate obesity, thyroid problem, anemia, heart problem
- Check on bruises in your feet. Bruises or patches in the feet may indicate cardiovascular problems, water in the lungs, kidney problem, or liver disease.
- Check on your hands. If your hands are shaking, it may be unhealthy signs of a thyroid problem or goiter based on the video.
- Check on your eyes. If you have yellowish eyes, it may be a sign of a liver problem, a gallbladder blockage, or hepatitis.
