This is the “practice of drinking six to seven glasses of warm water first thing in the morning, even before brushing and on an empty stomach” according to a definition from Nutrisense. It has to be done 45 minutes before breakfast.
Here are the steps you should do every day according to a post from Healthline:
- 45 minutes before eating breakfast and before brushing your teeth, drink four to five 160 ml glasses of room-temperature water.
- During each meal, eat for only 15 minutes then wait for at least 2 hours before eating or drinking again.

- High blood pressure: 30 days
- Type 2 diabetes: 30 days
- Cancer: 180 days
There are side effects and risks to doing this therapy. There’s a possibility that one would get water intoxication or overhydration. For safety, avoid drinking a liter in an hour. If you are trying to lose weight, there’s also a high possibility that a rebound weight gain can happen after being done with the therapy.
