For a healthy lifestyle, one must have a healthy eating tips. As the common statement indicates, “We are what we eat”. Physical fitness is much needed but not really the sole basis of being healthy. A healthy person is mentally and emotionally fit and being healthy should make by everyone as part of their lifestyle.
Factors that make you healthy include engaging into a regular exercise routine, doing things you are passionate about, positive energy from your surroundings, and a healthy diet.
For some tips, health expert Doc Willie Ong showed a sample of a healthy plate. It showed that half of it should be intended for carbohydrates where one part for rice or bread and the other part for vegetables which are considered the good carbohydrates.
One-fourth of it is for fish or meat for the proteins needed by the body and the last one-fourth is for fruits such as bananas and apples. Accordingly, the ideal amount of fruits a person must consume should be around two cups of fruits in a day. The same goes as well when it comes to eating vegetables which is in two cups in amount in a day.
Truly, a healthy lifestyle has a wide variety of choices. But accordingly, some expert stresses these type of foods to be a part of your healthy diet plan:
- fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and fat-free or low-fat milk and milk products
- lean meats, poultry, fish, beans, eggs, and nuts
- foods low in saturated fats, trans fats, cholesterol, salt (sodium), and added sugars
- stick within your daily calorie need
