- Temporomandibular Joint Disorder (TMJ) – Always chewing gum most especially if you are chewing on just one side of your jaw can result in TMJ or jaw muscle imbalance. - Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) – While chewing a gum, excess air are getting inside your body and may result to gastrointestinal disorder. It can result to cramping, unusual bowel movement, abdominal pain, or blaoting.
It is not bad to chew a gum as long as you don’t do it very often. Also, it is important to choose the kind of gum you would chew to avoid the ones loaded with sugar that can cause you dental problems.
