Based on the article, people usually have a high level of growth hormone and cortisol as well in the morning. Both of it are related to metabolism thus the body will turn to the fat reserves for more energy.

Not waking up at 5:00 a.m. to exercise is okay as long as it is the first thing you would do upon waking up at 7:00 or 8:00 am. Exercising in the morning also helps boost the mental health and reduce stress.
