Here are some of the things you should know about rejuvenating sets and how to use them.
REJUVENATING SETS – Many people attest to great results after using rejuvenating sets but here are some of the things you should know first.
Rejuv sets have promising effects like treating breakouts, smoothening skin, and fading acne scars. A lot of these have been sold online and many people have used and gained good results from them. Rejuvenate means to renew the skin and the set is meant to accelerate the exfoliation process.
Usually, a kit comes with a cleanser, toner, cream, and sunblock all meant to exfoliate and protect the skin. According to an expert, the safe type to use is the one with a cosmetic grade on its label. However, if using it results in peeling, red, flaky skin, it’s better to not use the said product.
It is advised to use it for 25 to 30 days. Traditionally, the first to use is soap. After patting it dry, apply the toner over the face and neck using a cotton pad or cotton ball. Then, let a few minutes pass before applying the sunscreen
According to a blog from Project Vanity, on the other hand, a dermatologist stressed that “they’re not meant for every skin type, for every skin concern, and for long-term use”. Accordingly, ingredients like kojic acid, lactic acid, salicylic acid, hydroquinone, and tretinoin or any retinoids found separately in the soap, toner, and cream can lead to irritation when all used together.
The expert also stated that the said “normal reaction” of the skin for using the rejuv set, such as the redness, peeling, and stinging, are not normal. These signs actually indicate that the skin barrier has been damaged. She also emphasized that long-term use of creams with hydroquinone may result in “exogenous ochronosis”.
Still, the best thing you can do to achieve flawless skin is through consulting with a board-certified dermatologist. They know what to do and how to solve your skin problem.
