PULMONARY EDEMA – Doctor Willie Ong explained this lung condition which is the cause of death of popular Filipino comedian Chokoleit.
This year 2019, one of the celebrities who passed away is comedian Chokoleit or Jonathan Aguilar Garcia in real-life. It was in March during an event in Abra when the comedian who is best known as “Pearly Shell” in Marina died.
The cause of the death of Chokoleit is pulmonary edema, a serious lung condition. Visibly, the comedian was gasping for breath at the event before he passed out. Through a video, doctor Willie Ong explained the nature and symptoms of this disease.
Doc Willie cited that “pulmonary” means lungs while “edema” means water. According to him, the blood travels to the heart and enters the right ventricle and then the lungs where the oxygenation takes place. It travels back to the left ventricle from where it is pumped to the different parts of the body.
However, when there is a problem with regards to the pumping of the blood by the heart, blood clot in the lungs may happen. This can lead to having blood in the lungs. It can further lead to the swelling of the lungs.
Doc Willie Ong also cited the causes of pulmonary edema which is the cause of death of Chokoleit. It can be due to any of the following:
- valve problem
- heart vein blockage
- cholesterol in the heart
- high blood
With regards to the symptoms of this lung condition, they can be common signs. Here is a list of what you must not take for granted:
- Difficulties in breathing
- Sleeping position difficulties
- Gasping
- Cold hands
- Nervous
- Restless
- Frothy sputum
- Irregular heartbeats
- Disturbed sleeping dew to cough
Based on the video, if the condition is not treated, it can further lead to the swelling of the other parts of the body. It may cause inflammation on the liver, face, stomach, and feet.
