What is a Cozy Cardio?
Exercising has been an essential factor in keeping the body healthy and one of the kinds being introduced now is “Cozy Cardio.”
This type of exercise can keep you fit, especially if you do not want to spend time at the gym. However, this exercise can still help you stay active, especially during colder months. Extreme workout is definitely not everyone’s cup of tea.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) stated that it is recommended that people get at least 150 minutes of moderate exercise per week.
Social media influencer and creator of the Cozy Cardio Club Hope Zuckerbrow was the one who introduced this kind of exercise, based on the article in The Healthy. This has been gaining popularity on social media, especially TikTok.
Cozy Cardio is described as a low-impact cardiovascular exercise, executed in a comfortable way. Zuckerbrow intends this exercise to “take the pressure off of workouts and weight loss and not put unnecessary rules on how to do it best.” The social media influencer said that people can take this as how they define “cozy” and decorate their exercise space depending on this.
A popular setup for this kind of exercise included a walking pad (a pared-down version of a small treadmill). Some would have an exercise bike, a portable elliptical, or some form of yoga or online fitness class.
These activities are easier to incorporate into daily life. They also require less time and energy, and are less strenuous, making them more sustainable.
Other activities under this exercise are lightweight training, yoga, and bodyweight exercises. These can be beneficial for heart health and also feasible to do at home.
Here are the health benefits of Cozy Cardio.
- improve blood pressure
- lower cholesterol levels
- improves respiratory function
- prepares the heart for higher levels of stress
