Sleeping, to most adults, is a luxury. Due to a busy schedule and jam-packed events and responsibilities to attend to, if not most, many adults could not afford a complete quality sleep at night.
Having a good and quality sleep does not only give your body a rest and enough time to restore your energy for the next day but is also very beneficial to your health. A regular schedule of sleep can improve your heart health, boost your immune system, improve memory, increase productivity, and many others.
But sometimes, sleeping, despite following a regular schedule, comes hard.
And here are some tips that may help you with your dilemma in sleeping:
- Lower the temperature or find the level of temperature that works best for you.
- Do the 4-7-8 breathing method.
- Here’s how to do this:
- Place your tongue at the back of your front teeth.
- Exhale through the mouth making the “whooshing” sound and then, inhale through your nose while your mouth’s closed. Count 1 to 4 mentally in doing this.
- After that, hold your breath while counting to 7 mentally.
- Open your mouth and exhale as you count to 8 mentally.
- Repeat this at least three times.

- Listen to relaxing music.
- Lie down on a comfortable mattress and bedding.
- Avoid the use of any electronic devices.
- Read something but don’t read through your phone.
- Turn off the lights.
