Here are some certain eye problems and their remedies as per Doc Willie Ong.
EYE PROBLEMS – Health expert Doc Willie Ong cites several eye problems many people commonly suffer and how to properly treat it.
Never ever take your eyes for granted. Can you imagine being blind one day not seeing every color and just pure darkness? They say these two parts of our body are the windows to the soul.
However, as we enter middle age, many of us start to develop certain eye diseases and as we age, the risk is also increasing. But there are also other factors why you suffer problems with your vision such as a result of having diabetes where you are likely to develop diabetic retinopathy or a family history of glaucoma.
Now, here are some certain diseases in the eyes which Doc Willie Ong discussed and how to properly treat each:
- Twitching eyelids – Stress and fatigue are the most common causes of this condition and this is nothing serious. Accordingly, you just have to give it a rest and it will eventually just go away.
- Blurry vision after waking up – A blurry and hazy vision every morning after waking up is due to dried out tear secretions in the surface of the eyes and this is why you rub your eyes upon waking up. This is just normal and gets away after few minutes.
- Pterygium – This is the growth of a mucous membrane in front of the eyes, a result of irritation from smoke, dust, and dirt. This is noncancerous but if it already covers up your sight, you might have to undergo operation.
- Sore eyes – This is caused by several factors such as too much rubbing, prolonged wearing of contact lens, smoke, being exposed to chemicals, and too much exposure under the sun. This is very contagious but there are two ways to treat this: (1) using anti-bacterial eyedrops and (2)salt solution where you dissolve a tiny amount of salt to a distilled water then let a cotton ball soak by it and put on your closed eyes for five minutes. This could be a bit painful but it can quickly treat your sore eyes.
- Eye floaters – This condition is where you can see spots in your vision something like dots or specks. This is accordingly caused by aging or due to an injury that affected your eyes. However, once you see a lot of floaters, you must immediately have your eyes checked.
Meanwhile, among the most symptoms of eye disease include:
- Blurriness
- Discharge
- Flashes of light
- Irritation
- Light sensitivity
- Pain
- Tearing
