Doc Liza suggests using mild deodorants only. The strong chemicals may cause the darkening of the skin.
3. Build-up of dead skin cells
Combine one (1) teaspoon of sugar and one (1) teaspoon of olive oil and use it for exfoliation. Apply and let it stay for five (5) minutes before rinsing it.
4. Hyperpigmentation
The more melanin the person has, the darker the skin in the underarms can be according to Doc Liza. It is the pigment that gives color to the skin.

6. Addison’s Disease
This is a health condition accompanied with fatigue, low appetite, low blood pressure, and low blood sugar. Diarrhea and vomiting may also be part of the signs.
7. Hormonal Problem
According to Doc Liza, a hormonal problem may also lead to the darkening of the skin. It may include the Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) and the hypothyroid
Based on the video of Dr. Liza Ong, other procedure that can help whiten dark underarms include peels or dermabrasion and tretinoin. They are given by dermatologists from the Philippine Dermatological Society.
