Doc Willie Ong Pointed Out the Causes of “Kuliti” & Gave Tips To Prevent this Eyelid Condition
KULITI – Doctor Willie Ong cited the causes of this eyelid condition and gave some tips on how to avoid this kind of infection in the eyelids.
Undeniably, one of the most embarrassing minor health conditions a person can have is “kuliti” – a swelling in the eyelids. The Filipino belief, it is believed to be the result of peeping or looking at a something through a narrow opening.
Are you one of those who usually experience this condition and have even preferred to stay at home to avoid being teased? Don’t worry, according to Dr. Willie Ong, there is no truth as to the said belief about this condition is a result of peeping.
In a video, Doc Willie Ong cited the cause of kuliti. He was also generous enough to give some tips on how to avoid this eyelid condition. According to the doctor, here are its common causes:
- the entry of bacteria to the eyes through the opening left by an eyelash falling out
- using old or expired make-up, eyeliner, or eyelash curler
- not taking off your make-up at night
- touching the eyes with dirty hands
The success of preventing this eyelid condition depends on your daily habits. Here is a list of what you must practice every day to avoid an infection on your eyelids:
- Always clean and wash your eyelash curler
- Use dailies if you have a contact lens to prevent bacteria from getting stuck
- Dip your eyeliner in an alcohol
- Throw away old make-up
- Do not lend your make-up to other people
- Always wash your hands with soap and water
In the video, Doc Willie also revealed that if you are suffering from kuliti, you may treat it with a warm compress. Soak a towel in warm water and then place it on the affected area. Allow it to stay for fifteen (15) minutes. Do it thrice or four (4) times daily.
