BEST FOOD FOR HEART – Doctors Willie and Liza Ong cited the food that we should it to keep our heart healthy and avoid cardiovascular diseases.
Every day, there are a lot of food around us. We have the option which to consider – the healthy food or the unhealthy ones. Many surely want to choose the former but real-life situations may make it easier for us to choose the latter.
Choosing the right food to include in our diet is important to keep ourselves healthy. We cannot stay in a perfect health if we keep on eating very oil and yummy but unhealthy food. Do you want to keep your heart healthy? There are food that can help you achieve it.
In a video posted on Facebook, Doc Willie and Doc Liza Ong cited the best food for the heart. According to the couple, the red food are those that can actually help keep the heart healthy. They can scare away cardiovascular diseases that are rampant now.
Citing the information from American Heart Association, Doc Willie and Doc Liza stressed what can be taken from red food. They named red grapes, red apples, strawberry, tomato, and watermelon.
- Red Grapes – It contain flavonoids, resveratrol, and quercetin. These helps increase the good cholesterol in the body and prevent the rising of the platelets to avoid blood clot.
- Red Apples – It contain quarcetin which lowers the risk of cancer and Alzheimer’s Disease. Its skin contain pectin that lowers bad cholesterol.
- Strawberry – Doc Willie and Doc Liza noted that strawberry is also one of the best food for the heart as it contain antioxidants, potassium, and Vitamins B and C. These are needed for the normal beating of the heart.
- Tomato – The lycopene and beta-carotene content of the tomato makes it an excellent food for the heart. Lycopene is the strongest antioxidant.
- Watermelon – The watermelon increases the arginine level in the body. It is the chemical that strengthens and opens the blood vessels. It can help prevent stroke. Here is the video:
