To new mothers or who just gave birth, there will be a big possibility that they have to go through postpartum depression or also known as PPD. This is a complex combination of physical, emotional, and behavioral changes.
What actually most common is called “baby blues” where new mothers experience a little sad, worried, or fatigued. However, this usually fades after a couple of weeks. But if the depression is more severe and lasts longer, this is PPD. This is much more powerful and intense than having “baby blues” which eventually gives the mother a hard time taking care of the baby or herself.
This is a serious case and one that anyone must not take lightly. Below are some signs and symptoms of PPD that you must not ignore:

- irritability, anxiousness, or anger for no reason
- sudden mood swings or changes without warning

- difficulty to remember things

- feel worthless and guilty about feelings
- withdrawal from being with or talking to people like family and friends
