Mask acne or Maskne breakout prevention and treatment that you should know.
MASKNE BREAKOUT – Here are some of the most important things to know about mask acne breakout from prevention to its treatment.
Pimple and acne breakouts have a lot of external causes. However, with the new normal we are now living by due to consequences brought about by the pandemic coronavirus disease, a new condition was also introduced.
These days, wearing mask is just as essential as bringing your bottle of alcohol for safety and cleanliness purposes. However, as such, acnes tend to breakout in the areas of chin, bridge of your nose, and cheek. These areas are covered with mask and the condition is called “maskne” or mask acne.
As suggested by its name, the acne is caused by wearing a mask due to friction, pressure, stretching, rubbing, or occlusion. Even before pandemic, this is already experienced by athletes due to sweat, heat, and friction coming from their helmets and straps.
This happens because the pores are being blocked by sweat, oil, and makeup, and breathing with the mask on creates humidity which results to appearance of this certain skin problem.
