Here are some bad habits to avoid:

  • Lack of sleep, in the long run, may cause dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. To have better sleep, avoid alcohol, caffeine, and electronic gadgets before and during sleeping hours.
  • Be social. Spending too much time being alone may lead to brain decline. Also, there are studies suggesting that connecting with people and being with people with whom you have this real sense of connection can make you happier and more productive.
  • Eating too much junk foods, like hamburgers, fries, potato chips, and soft drinks, is linked to smaller learning, memory, and mental health. Be smart in your food choices. Eat whole grains, nuts, and green leafy vegetables.
  • High-volume headphones can not just result in loss of hearing but also affect your brain function. This is accordingly because the organ is having a hard time understanding what it just heard. Make sure you listen to sounds not louder than 60 percent.
  • A sedentary lifestyle not only just causes diabetes, heart disease, and high blood pressure but is also linked to dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.

Other activities bad for the brain include overeating, smoking, staying in the dark for a long, too much sugar, missing breakfast, not enough water, and sleeping covering your head based on a health article from Pharmiweb.
