Regular brushing of teeth is one of the best ways to prevent tooth decay but there should be the proper way of toothbrushing.

Brushing of teeth is an essential part of dental care routine for a healthy mouth and good breath. Dentists suggest that a person must brush his teeth twice a day using a soft-bristled brush with a size that fits the mouth and would allow you to reach every corner of it for cleaning.

A parent must teach their child or children to brush their teeth so as to prevent dental damages. According to Doc Willie Ong, a damaged oral health takes away three (3) years of our life.

Now, here’s the proper ways to brush your teeth:

  • Angle or place your toothbrush in 45 degrees to the gums.
  • Gently brush your teeth in short strokes back and forth.
  • Make sure to clean the inside, outside, and chewing surfaces.
  • Start brushing on your lower set of teeth from left to middle to right. Make sure that you brush every tooth.

Here are some other tips based on the post:

  • Replace your brush in every 3 or 4 months.
  • After eating a meal, brush your teeth. But if you can’t, gargle with water instead.
  • Use dental floss at least once a day.
  • Use Tongue Cleaner as it is proven to reduce bad breath by brushing off bacteria in the mouth that causes it.
  • Be careful when eating hard foods and avoid sweets such as candies and chocolates.
  • Don’t let your child sleep with a bottle of milk on the mouth. Always let them drink water after drinking milk.

  • Always see your dentist in every 6 months.
