  • combination
  • acne-prone
  • sensitive
  • mature

And here’s how to tell what type of skin you have and how to take care of it:

  • NORMAL – You don’t suffer from breakouts, adverse reactions from products and weather changes, nor the need to moisturize your skin constantly. The skin is firm and the best things about this skin type is you can experiment on various products until you can find the one that best works for you.
  • OILY – This type of skin leaves you with a glazed texture and the make up or products you put on just seems to not stay on your skin for too long. Always choose products that say “non-comedogenic” and avoid those that has mineral oil, petrolatum, and alcohol.
  • DRY/DEHYDRATED – These are two different things but are alike in some things. Dryness is lack of oil while dehydrated is lack of moisture. For dry skin, avoid harsh soaps or products and for dehydrated skin, use water-based products because oil-based products can worsen yur skin.
  • COMBINATION – You find it hard to determine your type of skin but is defined easily because of an oily T-zone. Avoid alcohol-based products.
  • ACNE-PRONE – You are prone to having whiteheads, blackheads, or pustules. Use cleansers, exfoliants, and moisturizers that specially formulated to help treat acne. Ingredients like salicylic acid, clay, benzoyl peroxide, or retinol can help reduce acne.
  • SENSITIVE – It is usually caused by genetics, allergies, or environmental factors that makes skin appear easily flushed, rashes and bumps, stinging or burning after putting a product, negatively reacts to fragrance, and dry, flaky, and irritated. Choose products that are calming, healing, or anti-inflammatory properties and avoid those that have alcohol or antibacterial ingredients.
  • MATURE – Wrinkles, sagging, dark spots, dullness, and dehydration start to appear.
