This way, you’ll easily make a routine of training or habit you should in order to achieve what you want. You can also choose the right diet for you by knowing the type of body that you have.

There are certain factors affecting it and int include genetics, gender, age, diet, and level of activity. Each type has certain characteristics in terms of weight, fat, and muscle.

Psychologist William H. Sheldon has introduced three major body types and these classifications are also applicable to females. These classifications are:

  • Ectomorph
    These are the people who are lean and slender. They have less body fat and muscle. Fashion models often have this type and they also find it hard to gain weight.
  • Endomorph
    These are the people whose body stores more fat. They can easily gain weight but they are not always overweight. Marilyn Monroe has this type of body.
  • Mesomorph
    These are the people who are strong and athletic. They are not overweight or underweight. Swimmers and volleyball players usually have this type of body.

Although Sheldon has already introduced three major types, there are more classifications in women who have more fat mass. These types have stemmed from the fashion industry.

  • Pear or triangle
    These are the females who have shoulders narrower than their hips. More weight is pronounced in their buttocks, lower hips, and thighs.
  • Inverted triangle
    These are the females who have a smaller lower half compared to their upper extremities. More weight is seen in the upper body and stomach areas.
  • Rectangle
    These are the women who have no defined curve in the waistline and hips.
  • Hourglass
    These are the women whose top and bottom halves are of equal broadness. They have a smaller waist.
  • Oval or apple
    They are these females who carry more weight in the chest and stomach areas. They have slender legs and their top and bottom are narrow.
