1. Limit your salt in-take

2. Limit high-protein food
Food that are high in protein like meat must also be limited. The protein makes the kidneys work harder.
3. Maintain a 130/80 blood pressure or lower than it
According to Doc Willie, the kidneys are safe with a 130/80 blood pressure. Thus, you need to avoid factors that can spike it like the food that are high in cholesterol.
4. Maintain a blood sugar that is 120mg/dL or below
Aside from high blood pressure, another leading cause of kidney failure is diabetes. You may control your blood sugar with medicines and diet.
5. Drink enough water
The ideal intake of water is at least eight(8) glasses a day. You can drink more most especially if you are into sweat-eliciting activities.
6. Limit your intake of pain relievers
Also one of the ways on how to protect your kidney according to Dr. Willie Ong is to limit your pain reliever intake. It may have side effects like damaging the kidneys.
