HEARTBURN – Popular doctor Willie Ong cited the food that you must avoid if you are suffering from it and gave some tips on what to do.

Are you always suffering from chest pain and a salty or sour fluid is going back to your throat from your stomach? You may be experiencing heartburn. It is a health condition that is affecting a lot of people nowadays.

This health conditions spares no one. It can happen to both men and women regardless of age. Aside from chest pain and the sour fluid, it may also be characterized by a burning sensation in the throat, difficulty in swallowing, burning feeling in the chest, and the feeling that a food is stuck in the middle of your throat and chest.

With regards to its causes, there are a lot of them. It may be due to certain food and drinks, extreme hunger, stress, obesity, and hernia among others.

In a video, Dr. Willie Ong cited the food that you must avoid if you are suffering from heartburn. He also gave some tips on what to do. Let us begin with the food. You must avoid the following:

  • vinegar
  • calamansi
  • spicy food
  • milk
  • cold food

According to Doc Willie, you have a sour throat when you are suffering from heartburn as the acid in your stomach increases. Here is a list of what you must do based on the video:

  • Drink lukewarm water.
  • Drink chamomile tea to relax the stomach.
  • Eat banana while drinking the tea.
  • Eat slowly.
  • Cut the spices when eating noodles and add more water.
  • If you are in a rush, eat only crackers or biscuits.
  • Put a warm bag in your stomach to relax it.
