To choose healthy foods to eat is choosing a healthier path to life. The key to a healthy diet is consuming the right amounts of calories everyday. Basically, if you’ve eaten more than how much your body needs means you’re also gaining weight. This is because the energy not use is stored as fats.

Now, here’s your color guide for healthy eating:

  • WHITE – for immune support
    Example: onions, pears, cauliflower, potatoes,white beans, mushrooms, turnips, garlic, tofu
  • GREEN – for detoxification
    Example: kale, green beans, spinach, avocado, green pepper, asparagus, broccoli, kiwi, green juices
  • YELLOW – for beauty
    Example: bananas, mangoes, lemon, corn, pumpkin, yellow peppers, pineapples
  • ORANGE – for cancer prevention
    Example: pumpkin, apricots, carrots, orange, sweet potatoes
  • RED – for heart health
    Example: cranberries, cherries, tomatoes, strawberries, watermelon, raspberries
  • PURPLE – for longevity
    Example: eggplant, blackberries, passion fruit, acai berries, purple star apple, purple cabbage, red dragon fruit

  1. Slow down your pace when eating for studies have shown that fast eating leads to weight gain
  2. Make higher fibre starchy carbohydrates meals such as wholewheat pasta, brown rice or potatoes with their skins on.
  3. Drink plenty of water.
  4. Never skip breakfast and eating eggs in the morning is highly suggested.
  5. Choose to bake or roast instead of grill or fry.
  6. Drop foods from fast-food restaurants and upgrade to healthier options.
  7. Eat your greens and fruits.
  8. Be more active.
