Vomiting is a way where the body releases viruses, bacteria, or parasites in your digestive system through the mouth. To which, cases like this, is triggered by stress, anxiety, pregnancy, some certain medications, and a disruption of the vestibular system.

There are certain cause why you vomit including gastroenteritis, food poisoning, motion sickness, and among others. And this is always unpleasant to us but it has something to tell us about our health.

Here are the following colors of the vomit and what it indicates:

  • Clear – indicates concussion or brain injury, cyclic vomiting disorder, food poisoning, gastric outlet obstruction, gastroenteritis, migraines
  • White or foamy – acid reflux, gastritis
  • Green or yellow – bile reflux, blocked bowel, food poisoning, gastroenritis, influenza, liver failure, migraines, morning sickness

Vomiting is not a disease at all but a symptom with an underlying conditions. And as the body changes due to these conditions as it progress, that’s when the color of the vomit changes. These conditions range from infection to chronic illnesses as per Health Line.
