Among the most important parts of the body are the eyes. Sadly, nowadays, not only those who are approaching the old age are in need of eyeglasses. Some kids as young as seven (7) years old already need eyeglasses to see clearly.

If there is a need for the wearing of eyeglasses, most likely, the problem is correctional or permanent. The most common condition suffered by many people is astigmatism or the abnormal shape of the cornea.

While there are permanent eye problems, there are also those that are temporary. Among them are the Preseptal cellulitis, sore eyes, and viral eye infection. In a video, Doc Willie Ong and Doc Frances Lingad explained their characteristics.

According to the doctors, the Preseptal cellulitis is an infection that can be found in the eyeball and the eyelids. If the infection has not yet spread inside the eyeball, it can be treated with applied and swallowed medicines. However, if it has already spread, a hospital admission may be needed as the medicine may be given through an injection to the infected area.

Another eye problem is sore eyes. It is one of the common eye problems that is contagious through direct contact to things touched by a person with sore eyes. It is characterized by having red eyes with a little swelling of the eyelids. With regards to the treatment, it may include eyedrops for adults and ointment for infants.

Based on the video, if you are experiencing the constant release of tears and your eyes seem irritated, you may be suffering from a viral eye infection. If there is greenish eye gum in your tears, it may be caused by a bacteria.

To clean the eyes infected by viral infection, wash your hands first with alcohol before cleaning your eyes using clean water and tissue. Do not use clothe to avoid spreading the infection. Also, it is important not to rub the eyes to avoid it leading to bacterial infection.

Based on the video, if the viral infection did not heal in two (2) to three (3) days. It is best to go for a visit to an ophthalmologist to prevent further eye damage. Experiencing blurriness may be a sign of glaucoma, a condition wherein the optic nerve of the eye is damaged.
