First recorded in China, the said disease has infected over 1.2 million people across the globe now. Different countries are on a tough battle to contain its spread.

The coronavirus bears flu-like symptoms including fever, cough, and breathing difficulties. However, unlike flu, it can bring the patient a deteriorating condition that could lead to death in just a few days.

Currently, when people go out from their houses, most are wearing masks. In the Philippines, everyone is ordered to do it amid the outbreak of the disease in the country. Quarantines are also implemented to limit the movement of the people.

Some people even wear gloves when buying groceries. However, many are curious, what about the goods? Is it safe to get some goods from areas with confirmed cases of COVID-19?

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), it is safe to receive goods from areas with confirmed cases of COVID-19 as “the likelihood of an infected person contaminating commercial goods is low”.

Also, WHO stated that the risk of catching the virus from contaminated food that have been traveled and exposed to different weather conditions is low.
