OATMEAL – Is it reasonable to eat oatmeal every day? What are its benefits? Here are some answers to these questions.
A famous nutritious breakfast staple is oatmeal. Many foods will come and go with different health trends over time, but never this meal. Oats are one of the healthiest grains. They are also gluten-free and filled with essential vitamins, minerals, fiber, and antioxidants.
Scientifically, oats are called Avena sativa. Oat groats are intact and whole which makes them have a longer time to be cooked. Most people prefer rolled, crushed, or steel-cut oats, and some settle with instant and quick but this type, most likely, is processed.
It has been proven by many studies that this food has the ability to lower LDL or bad cholesterol levels.

- Every cup of oats is a double cup of liquid.
- For your liquid, you may use water milk or dairy-free milk like almond milk or cashew milk. A 50:50 of milk and water also work well together.
- A pinch of salt will kick in some flavor.
- You may cook it on a stove to medium-low for about 5 minutes or microwave it on high for 1 1/2 to 2 minutes.

- Apple Cinnamon – diced apples, chopped pecans, a sprinkle of cinnamon, and a drizzle of maple syrup.
- Banana Blueberry – sliced bananas, blueberries, a drizzle of almond butter, and a sprinkle of chia seeds.
- Strawberries and Cream – diced strawberries, a dollop of yogurt, and a sprinkle of flaxseeds.
- Raspberry Chia Jam – a spoonful of chia seed jam, coconut flakes, sliced almonds, and extra milk on top.
- Chocolate Peanut Butter – stir in cacao powder, then add a drizzle of peanut butter, and shredded coconut.
- Pumpkin Spice – stir in pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice, vanilla extract, and top with chopped pecans and maple syrup.
- Coffee, Walnut & Dates: Replace some of the liquid with a little bit of brewed coffee as it’s cooking. Then top it off with chopped dates, toasted walnuts, and banana slices.
