TOOTHACHE HOME REMEDIES – There are several ways to relieve an aching tooth and here are some home remedies to this.

No matter age you are or how big your body is, a toothache is a toothache which affects you body. An aching tooth can disrupt your daily activities and might even make you skip your scheduled activities if the pain becomes unbearable and worst, it’s getting in the way of your sleep.

Now, to get rid of the pain, here are some effective tips for you:

  • Take over-the-counter pain medication such as ibuprofen,  acetaminophen (Tylenol), and aspirin as they can help you relieve minor pain.
  • Numbing pain or gels with benzocaine as it can help you temporarily forget the pain enough until you fall asleep but this is not applicable to infants or children under age 2.
  • Elevated head while lying because a blood rushing to your head can worsen the pain.
  • Avoid acidic, cold, or hard foods as these can trigger the pain.
  • Apply an ice pack to the side of the pain to numb the pain.
  • A glass of salt water for rinsing the mouth as this is a famous and effective first aid to toothache. Salt water rinse a natural disinfectant.
  • Garlic for it serves as a pain reliever and has properties that can kill harmful bacteria. Crush a piece and put it to the affected area. You may also add a little salt.

If the pain becomes severe and lasted for two days, you must see your dentist right away. Other factors to consider before going to the dentist include fever, headache, pain when you try to open your mouth, and having trouble when breathing or swallowing.
